Nate's ABCs Sympathy card

Good Morning everyone! I recently bought Nate's ABCs and it is such a cute cartridge! I love the little scenes in it. One of my close friends recently lost an aunt so I decided to make her a sympathy card using this cartridge.

Recipe: A2 card folded landscape using So Saffron from Stampin Up. Layer is from My Minds Eye, Stella & Rose, Hattie 6X6 paper pad. Image is cut at 3.5". Grass part is from Nana's Nursery, Baby Boy and the rest are from scraps in my stash. The stamp is from Stampin Up Teeny Tiny Wishes and I used Staz On Timber Brown ink. The butterfly by the sentiment is from Martha Stewart's 3 in 1 butterfly punch. I used Waterfall and Eucalyptus Stickles to accent the butterfly and the leaves on the plant. Ribbon is from my stash. The cut out for the eye on the snail was entirely too small, so I used a white gel pen instead. I also did a little doodling with it.

So that's my card. I really like it. I am entering it into a few challenges and contests for this week:
Celebrate The Occasion challenge #32 which is any type of card as long as you use ribbon.
Cricut Blog World Card Making Day Contest.
Paper Sundaes Challenge #88 which is Anything Goes.

Thank you for stopping by and commenting. As always, have a great day!

Lady Frankenstein

Good Evening Crafters! I have some exciting news - I was the July winner on Cricutcardzchallenge.blogspot.com which by the way can now be found at cardztv.blogspot.com. I received my prize and it contained cute clear stamps, flowers and an acrylic block to use with the stamps from Studio G. Thank you so much Mary!

The CCC challenge now runs for two weeks so I made this card for challenge #91. I had to participate in the first challenge since the big move! The challenge is to make a scary card using any spooky cut on any cartridge you choose. Here's my card:

Recipe: Card base is Black from Stampin Up cut to A2 standard size. Matte is from Recollection paper stack, Ravenhead Manor ( last year's Halloween stack).  Image is Frame 4 from Happy Hauntings cut at 5". The base piece another patterned paper from Ravenhead Manor stack. I inked all the black and the purple patterned paper in white Studio G chalk ink I bought from the dollar bin at A.C. Moore; I rounded all corners with my corner chomper on the 1/2" side. The bats are from a Cuttlebug die and I inked it with white ink as well. I used orange ribbon behind the framed image, added Orange Peel stickles to the top of the pumpkins and Black Diamond stickles to the streak in Lady Frankenstein's hair. I also outlined it with a white gel pen. The saying is from Stampin Up.

I think this card meets the spooky criteria, lol. I also like the classy, grown up feel to this card. I hope you like it. Challenge #91 will end on Tuesday, the 27th at 11:59pm. Thanks for stopping by! Happy creating!

Envelope Card

Good Afternoon! Two posts in one day, can you believe it? I made an envelope card that I want to enter into two challenges today. Birthday Sundaes challenge #26 is to make an envelope/ criss-cross card and Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge #31, this week hosted by Paula of More Than Favors, is to use the cartridge, Live Simply. I don't have Live Simply but I found a similar cut on the Cricut American Alphabet loaded on my E2 of a rabbit.

Recipe: I used Pink Recollections cardstock for the base. There is a link on Birthday Sundaes on how to make this card. I cut the bunny and all of its layers at 3.25" from different scraps I had from recent projects. I used DCWV Nana's Kids mattes stack for the patterned cardstock. I used green ribbon from Michael's $1 bin on the band. I used strips of the patterned paper on the inside card and stamped Happy Birthday using Stampin Up, Regal Rose ink pad. I added Cotton Candy stickles to the bunny's ears and tail.

Super simple card. I wanted the patterned cs to take the spotlight on this card. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! I really appreciate the love! Have a great evening.

Gifts galore

Good Morning Crafters! Celebrate the Occasion has a challenge for the week to make a tall ( business envelope size) card for a birthday and it must have a present/presents on it. I love tall cards - so much more room to make a scene or cut an image larger than normal. Here is my card:

Recipe: Base is cut at 9" X 4" from Red Recollections paper. Mattes are 3.75" X 8.75" (Black Recollections) and 3.5" X 8.5" (patterned paper from stash). Image is from Imagine cartridge, Better Together, cut at 6.5". I used black velvet trim that I bought at a fabric store near my house for $1 for a huge spool - total score! I used Basic Grey buttons to dress it up with iridescent braid cord in the button holes. The Happy Birthday is a cling stamp (I can't remember who made the set and I am at work) I stamped using Black Staz On and colored it in with a Stampin Up marker in Real Red. Of course I had to use stickles, so I used a little fruit punch on the polka dots on the largest gift and accented the ribbon on the smallest gift. I think that's it.

I think this card turned out ok considering I went through a few trial and errors before arriving at the finished product, lol.  That's part of the fun of it, right? There is still plenty of time to join CTO for this challenge. It doesn't end until Sunday night at 11:59pm. Happy crafting!

CCCC #30

Good Morning! I hope everyone's day is off to a good start. It is raining in NY and one thing we don't need is more rain after the Hurricane last week. Nature is sure giving it to us lately: an earthquake, then a hurricane and now remnants of a tropical storm. What did we do? I wish I could send some of this rain to Texas where they are having a major drought. Oh well, on to my card.

This week Meriah from Tattered Time is hosting the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge on her site. She alternates weekly with Paula from More Than Favors. The cartridge chosen by their followers this week is Gypsy Wandering. I love a chance to use my Gypsy so I had to participate.

This card was very time consuming, lol. I cut the reindeer at 3.82 and the trees at: 4, 3.75, & 3.53. I used Chocolate Chip CS from Stampin Up. I flocked the trees different shades of green. I used Distressed stickles in Scattered Straw for the antlers and diamond stickles to highlight the swirl on the reindeer. I hand sewed the snowflake patterned paper (DCWV) to the turquoise paper (Recollections). That was my first time doing it and boy was it intense, lol. I love the look of it in real life. I corner chomped one side (to hide a cut in the paper, lol). I stamped Noel in Timber Brown from Staz On. Super simple but  a lot of time for elements to dry and then there was the sewing, lol.

I really love this card. I am going to save it to give to someone special at Christmas time. I hope you enjoyed my card. Please head over to Meriah's site and join in on the fun. You have until 11:59pm Sept. 11th. Good luck!
