My First Post and Challenge!

Hi, my name is Pam and this is my first blog post!  I have been a follower of other crafting artists for sometime now and decided to try my hand at it.  I had a baby last year and decided to make his Christening invitations myself and that led me to buy a Cricut and into the wonderful world of cardmaking,  It has become my stress relief this last year.  Nothing makes me happier than looking at a finished project that turned out well.

One of the artists I follow, Creative Time For Me, is hosting a challenge this week and I decided to participate.  The challenge is to use the Create a Critter cartridge and make a shape card using the color orange.  I am a gypsy owner so I merged a rectangle from Plantin Schoolbook with the saying Nuts About U from CAC and made a card base out of that.  I cut out the nuts and circle with U in the middle out of patterned paper.  I also cut out acorns and used cinnamon stickles to dress them up.  I had so much fun with it.  I wanted a non traditional shaped card.  I put the mustard color paper behind it to make the phrase pop out more.

 I hope to try my hand at more challenges in the upcoming months.  I have mostly been making cards for family and friends but looking at other blogs I realize challenges help you to grow artistically.  I have learned a lot from so many artists that I am more confident in my crafting.  Thanks for viewing my first post and challenge!
