Good Morning Everyone! I live in NYC and we got over a foot of snow overnight Wednesday into Thursday and I had a snow day from work. This is a record breaking winter for us and it isn't stopping anytime soon. I am so over it and Spring is still a long way away. Oh well...
I made this card Wednesday night to enter Paula's challenge on her blog. This is the first time I am participating in one of her challenges. It is a color challenge using the colors pink, brown and green. I like color challenges because sometimes you have to pair colors that are not normally your style and have to find a way to make it your own. I am a follower of Momo's and decided to give it a try as she is a designer for this week's challenge.
Recipe: Pink CS from Michael's cut using doily card from Wild Cards cart at 5". Brown patterned paper from American Crafts cut out in a circle using Plantin Schoolbook at 4". Flower from Pagoda cart cut at 3". I used a pearl brad in the middle from Imaginisce and I decorated the card with Viva Decor Pearl pens in Ice White and Brown because I thought it needed more oomph, lol. I did faux stitching all around the card and flower with a Signo white gel pen. I so had to restrain myself from using stickles because I love stickles but this card has enough going on, ha ha. Besides, second to stickles are my Viva Decor pens so I still had fun.
I like it. As I said this isn't a color palette I would normally choose, so I had to really work at finding something that I liked. I tried and that is what is important, right? I hope whoever reads this tries as well. I will use this a s a just cause card so I will write a note on the inside. Enjoy and thank you for looking and commenting. I never realized how good it makes you feel when other people compliment your work until I started this. So thank you for the confidence boosts!
