Monogrammed Bag

Good Morning Crafters! First off, I am the winner for challenge #83 on Cricut Cardz Challenge! I am entered into the drawing for July, YAY!!! I am super excited for my first blog win and so thankful to CCC for their great challenges.

Now on to today's business which is challenge #84. This week's task is to make a monogrammed card using any color and any cartridges you prefer. Now, I did not make a card but a gift bag to hold a gift card. I recently saw a tutorial on More Than Favors of Sarah, from My Pink Cricut on youtube, who made a treat box. You use one 8 1/2" X 11" sheet of cardstock to make it - with no cutting! Folding was a little tricky so I played the video while making it, lol. I recently went to Michael's, which is rare because there are not many in NYC, and Recollections now makes printed cardstock packs. When I saw the turquoise zebra striped print, I knew I had to make a treat box out of it.

Isn't that print fabulous? I also used a black polka dot from another patterned set from Recollections, a black and white, vintage looking set. I cut the print scallop at 3.25" and the white at 3.75" using Mini Monograms. I cut the L from Storybook at 2.5". I used Martha Stewart glitter and my Xyron to bling it out, lol. I colored a white flower with a Bic Mark It marker and used a pearl brad. The other two I used clear rhinestones from Recollections, I believe. I used my crop-a-dile to punch the holes and black ribbon from my stash to secure it.

I chose L because a friend of mine, named Lee, will be celebrating her birthday soon and I can put her gift in this bag. She loves bling and pretty so I immediately thought of her when I decided to make this project. I love how the glitter looks in real life! It is so pretty! So I hope you enjoy and forgive me for bending the rules, lol. The challenge ends Tuesday at Midnight, so you have time to enter. Take care and have a great weekend!
